This and That (A Poem)
This and That
Life is full of
this and that
And i’m learning to balance
What was, what is, and what could be
How to be present
and process the past
while looking to the future
And my prayers rise and fall
In my head and out of my mouth
With faith and sometimes fear
But i know through it all He hears
When i’m loud and when i am clear
Lately
i’ve been early to rise
To meet the morning right after night
To close my eyes as soon as they open
And i’m late to begin
But i’ve started praying once again
Will you show me when to Let go and hold fast
Go first and be last
Say yes and ask whyLeave it behind and still try
Give and receive
Rejoice and grieve
Inhale and exhale
Sit with the silence and shout the truth i believe
Between the start and the end
will you teach me how to continue
to begin again and again.
Peace,
