finding beauty
i’m finding beauty
in where i’ve been
i’m looking back
to move forward again
i’m beginning to
believe i am different
from who i was
way
back when
Before I leave the house I check to see if I
have my phone, wallet, and keys.
Phone.
Wallet.
Keys.
And when I know I have my phone, wallet, and keys I feel ready.
I feel okay.
I can move forward.
But only if I have my phone, wallet, and keys.
Do you do this, too?
It’s almost as if these three items give me the security I’m searching for so I can step into whatever the day has for me.
But those aren’t the only three things I carry with me.
I’m bringing what was, what is, and what will be as I move forward.
I’m taking faith, hope, and love.
I’m taking forgiveness and freedom and truth.
And as I move forward I’m beginning to believe I am different from who I was way back when.
Peace,
Tanner Olson
