I Don't Want To Look At My Phone Today

I don’t want to look at my phone today.
I want to live hands free with clear eyes and a full heart.
I hear you can’t lose when you’ve got clear eyes and a full heart.
Today, I don’t want any notifications or distractions.
I don’t want to numb my pain or loneliness with scrolling.
That’s taken me nowhere but backwards.
I’d rather feel it all and move forward.
I don’t want to see advertisements or be influenced.
Today, I don’t need to take a photo.
I’ll live in the moment.
Today, I want to listen to the birds sing and watch the sun rise and set.
I want my hands to be free so I can hold hers and hold tight to hope.
I want to savor every second of being here and being alive, because I am here and I am alive.
I want to live like a kid again.
Wild and free, just like I used to be.
I want to remember what I’ve been trying to forget.
I want to come back to myself.
I want to get lost in the goodness of God and draw close to mercy.
