The Vine
The Vine
John 15
I don’t quite know how to say what I’m about to, but I heard You say something about You being the true vine and Your Father is the gardener.
You invited us to remain in You and went on to speak about bearing fruit.
And this might sound strange, but I’m starting to see how there is something in me that needs to be changed or rearranged.
Won’t you help me to let go of what’s keeping me from continuing to love and beginning to grow?
Cut and clip me if You have to.
I know You’ll have to.
May I be as patient with myself as You are with me.
Write the words “love” and “remain” in and on my heart.
Carve it if you have to.
Tie me to Your side; intertwine my roots with Yours and hold me up as I begin to bloom.
Let my hands give and give some more.
And when they see me, may they see You.
