rise and shine and rest and repeat

For the third night in a row, I’m ready to join the stillness

and watch the sun fall into the silence of the horizon.

Nothing needs to be said when watching a sunset.

[ I don’t think beauty needs a narrator. ]

Last night, we saw the sky become cotton candy before our eyes
and I wanted so badly to take a bite or a photo,
but I was too mesmerized by the mystery to move.

She told me God was showing off, but I thought He was just being Himself.

There is something holy about the departure of today and the arrival of tomorrow.

A reminder we were made to rise and shine and rest and repeat.

A reminder that we, too, are not the same,
but we are changed day after day, evening after evening.

And evening means we almost have another yesterday to miss.

But it also means we almost have another day to begin again.
