No Longer Internet Friends
No Longer Internet Friends
The other day a friend from college popped into my head and so I did the only logical thing: I looked them up on Facebook.
And to my surprise, we were no longer internet friends.
Why were we no longer friends?
What did I do?
Did I say something?
When?
Did someone else say about me?
Why?
I was unfriended.
Unfriended.
As in, no longer friends according to the internet.
Ouch.
As my pain set in, it slowly turned into guilt as I began to recall the people I unfriended.
Guilty.
It’s weird when you discover you’re no longer friends with someone on the internet.
“But honestly,
I am a little hurt and confused
Because at one time,
you wanted me in your life.
And now, you don’t even want me on your screen.
And now, we’re no longer Internet friends and I’m not angry,
I’m just wondering.
I’m just wondering.
I’m always wondering.”
Memories fade and distance grows.
Life moves on and so it goes.
You post and I’ll never know.
I’ll change and you’ll never see.
I guess our internet friendship was never meant to be.
And so it goes and neither of us will ever know.
And so it goes.
And so it goes.
