Another Good Question To Ask Yourself

Written to Speak Daily Blog. Written by Tanner Olson.

whatever this is
and whatever may be
may it only and always
be for the One who has set me free.

. . . .
On Sunday our pastor asked us,

what is the broken thing i keep putting my trust in?

It’s a question I’ve never asked myself before, but one I think I’ll start asking.

I know this question is assuming that we are putting our trust in something that is broken and maybe that’s why I like the question.
Maybe I like that this question because it sees past the walls I’ve built with my tired and torn up hands.
Maybe I like that this question because it cuts right through as if to interrupt my defensive mind to say,

No no no. There is something. What is it?

what is the broken thing i keep putting my trust in?

I want to place my trust in Who has set me free.
And Who has set me free is far from broken.
